Festival of Lights Christmas Tour

DAY 1 – FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3 – HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA – This morning we board our motorcoach for Huntsville. We enjoy our travel today as we make our lunch stop and rest stops along the way. On arrival in Huntsville we check in our hotel and have time to get settled in our room before departing for dinner on our own. Following dinner we depart for Burritt on the Mountain, a living history museum featuring a “Candlelight Christmas”. The park has been decorated for the Holidays, including the mansion, the Old Baptist Church, all the 1800’s log cabins and grounds. Hundreds of candles will light pathways throughout the park, and you’ll get to enjoy a spectacular view from the top of the mountain. Musicians will perform Holiday music, fruit fans made from assorted fresh fruits will decorate the doorways. You’ll have a chance to watch Christmas cookies baking and 19^th Century ornaments being made, and enjoy some hot apple cider. This will be a wonderful evening! Our next stop this evening will be a visit to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens lit up with a “Galaxy of Lights” – this mile and a half driving tour was voted one of the top 100 national events by the American Bus Association and listed by the Southeast Tourism Society as a Top 20 event. We depart the Botanical Gardens and return to our hotel for the evening.

DAY 2 – SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4 – LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – We enjoy breakfast this morning before checking out of our hotel. Boarding our motorcoach we depart Huntsville for Louisville. On arrival in Louisville we check in at the Galt House Hotel home for the Kalightscope Christmas – a Holiday event never before seen in the US. It is a landscape of larger-than-life holiday luminaries inspired by ancient Chinese art. Each is a sculpture of painted, sheer fabric lit from within and towering up to 24 feet high. Following check-in- we will have time to settle in before we enjoy a 35-minute high-definition visual tour of Kentucky. We will, also, be viewing the Kalightoscope Christmas that will amaze and delight you. Holiday music, interactivity and little surprises make it an unforgettable experience for all. we will enjoy the Colors of the Season Holiday Dinner Show. After an enjoyable dinner and show we will depart for a tour of the Mega Cavern Lights Under Louisville. Following the tour we will return to our hotel for the evening.(B)(D)

DAY 3 AND 4 – SUNDAY AND MONDAY- DECEMBER 4 AND 5 -WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA – This morning we will have a Galt House Voucher for breakfast. Following breakfast we check out of our hotel and depart for Wheeling. (set your clocks ahead one hour). We will have lunch on our own before checking in our hotel for the next two nights. In 1985 a holiday tradition began at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling and spread throughout the city of Wheeling. That tradition is the Winter Festival of Lights/City of Lights Celebration. Oglebay’s Winter Festival of Lights now covers more than three hundred acres over a six-mile drive throughout the resort. Downtown Wheeling features dozens of Homes, shops and business establishments ablaze in Lights. The Winter Festival of Lights/City of Lights has earned a permanent spot on the American Bus Association’s Top International Events. During our time in Wheeling you will enjoy breakfast buffet daily, Holiday dinner daily – with a Holiday Dinner show one

evening. You will enjoy visiting Oglebay’s Mansion Museum decorated for the season, Tour the Carriage House Glass Museum, and a guided tour of Oglebay’s Winter Festival of Lights.(B)(B)(D)(D)

DAY 5 – TUESDAY – DECEMBER 6 – PIGEON FORGE, TENNESSEE – We enjoy breakfast this morning before checking out of our hotel. Today we will be traveling to Pigeon Forge. As we travel today we will make a lunch stop on our own, and making appropriate rest stops along the way. On arrival in Pigeon Forge we check in our hotel. We will have time to freshen up before departing for the Smith Family Theater for dinner and a show. After the show we return to our hotel for the evening.(B)(D)

DAY 6 – WEDNESDAY – DECEMBER 7 – HOME – After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and board our motorcoach headed for home. We will certainly be carrying home with us many beautiful memories of the Christmas lights, and variety of entertainment we have enjoyed these last few days focused on this wonderful Christmas Season.(B)
