DAY 1 – MONDAY, NOVEMBER 29 – PINE MOUNTAIN, GEORGIA -This morning we board our motorcoach for Pine Mountain – the home of beautiful Callaway Gardens.
As we travel today we will make our lunch stop and appropriate rest stops along the way. On arrival at the Callaway Gardens Resort we will check-in. We have time to get settled in our rooms before making our way to the restaurant for dinner. After dinner we will be enjoying one of the most spectacular holiday light and sound shows in the South. With more than eight million twinkling lights celebrating the holiday season, and more than a dozen larger-than-life lighted scenes that are custom-designed especially for Callaway Gardens, you will understand why Fantasy In Lights has become a holiday tradition celebrating its eighteenth year. Following our Fantasy of Lights tour we return to our hotel for the evening.(D)
DAY 2 – TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 30 – ATLANTA, GEORGIA – LAKE LANIER – We enjoy our breakfast this morning before checking out of our hotel. We board our motorcoach and enjoy a guided tour of the Gardens at Callaway before departing. As we travel to Atlanta we will make a stop for lunch on our own. Following lunch we continue on to our hotel and check-in. We have time to get settled in our room before we board our motorcoach for the Legacy Lodge and Conference Center at Lake Lanier.
Here at Legacy Lodge we will enjoy a bountiful buffet dinner. After dinner we will begin our six and a half mile driving tour of Lake Lanier’s Magical Night of Lights known as one of the world’s largest light extravaganzas. The tour will feature giant illuminated characters that comprise millions of twinkling and moving lights. We will have time to visit The Holiday Village for some holiday shopping before returning to our hotel for the evening.(B)(D)
DAY 3 – ATLANTA – HOME – Before checking out of our hotel this morning we will enjoy our breakfast. Following breakfast we board our motorcoach and make our way to the Atlanta History Center which comes alive with festive decorations. Here at the History Center we will visit the Swan House Mansion and the Tullie Smith Farm all “dressed up” for the Holidays. The Swan House is an elegant, classically styled mansion built in 1928 for the Edward H. Inman family, heirs to a cotton brokerage fortune. The mansion, designed by famed Atlanta architect Philip Trammel Shutze, provides a glimpse into the lifestyle of this Atlanta family during the 1920’s and 1930’s. The Tullie Smith Farm portrays the jolly hustle and bustle of a mid 19th century family with decorations giving a glimpse into the 1840’s. Following our visit to the Atlanta History Center we board our motorcoach and make a lunch stop on our own before we continue home. As we travel home we will make appropriate rest stops along the way.(B)
